Who Let the Dogs Out?

On Saturday, September 8, ten Trash Dogs were released along the North Bank of the Chetco River. They retrieved all manner of garbage including televisions and wire fencing. The day culminated in the cleanup of tents and trash at an old abandoned Palmer Butte campsite. The day’s haul filled a pickup bed and a trailer. Thanks to volunteers Ed Cooke, Lester Crazner, James Fournier, Ed Gross,Victor Ortega, Debbie and Jere Petrie, Ray Sundblad, Wayne Sundin and Beth Walden.

On Wednesday, September 12, Trash Dogs Ed Gross, Victor Ortega, Ray Sundblad and Wayne Sundin went to McGribble campground, just northeast of Port Orford, to load up an old truck and a 38′ trash-filled RV as well as pick up garbage littering the surrounding area.

The disposal and towing for these events totaled $1,059. It’s very costly to keep our parks and forests clean. Trash Dogs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. Donations can be mailed to Trash Dogs, P.O. Box 444, Brookings, Oregon 97415.
